How much of a difference is it? Is it a pain to fit to the US?

Same exact thing, except it doesnt have the connector to make the rear tail light stay on all the time for safety.  I have a jap spec on mine and the only thing you have to do to make it work is hook the two brown wires together on the two pin plug since the jap ignition doesn't have the connector.  Once you do that everything works as normal
