case cover
«

Found this today on the yahoo japan auction site.
If you look at the label on the box it is for the CB400F/SF/...........
I think this is a heavier or stronger case cover.
I also found engine protectors or sliders. They are listed under the CB400SF, but they mount in the same place on the CB-1.
I am going to order both of these, but I am waiting to find out about one more item.

Got to admit, I'm not keen on those Beet cases, the finish looks awfull and the whole look is very 80s. They're mega expensive too. I think the idea comes from air-cooled race bikes in the 70s and 80s when they would modify the lower cases in an attemp to get better cooling. They have some strange tastes over in the land of the rising sun, like those Beet "Aero Shark" front mudguards - they look like something off Captain Nemo:-
.
The sliders look like a good idea tho, can't you get them in the US?

Let me know how the sliders work out, I might be interested in picking up a pair. Does the place your ordering from have more than one set?

Yes, there are more sliders. If I remember correctly, there was something like 5 or 6 of them listed.
As for the paint job on the case cover, I agree it is ugly. I'll strip it and when I get the motor painted, I'll have it painted as well.

Do they come with all necessary hardware to mount them? Are they on a website or yahoo japan auction? Since I don't have a shipping connection in Japan, would you mind ordering a set for me and then shipping them to me? I'm located in Michigan. This is all depending on cost of course, what do you think they will run?

That has got to be one of the worse paint jobs I have ever seen on that case cover. {:hurl emoticon:}

The base cos tof the sliders is about $60.00. Then there is a 1500 yen (~$15.00) purchasing fee. Your shipping to me is free since it will be put into the bigger box of stuff I am buying. That leaves shipping to you.
I do not know if it comes with a longer bolt. I translated all the text and none of it says anything. If need be, I'll get a longer bolt for my bike. If you are interested in this, you can wait till I get mine and I can let you know what it is al about. This is not a one off item on Yahoo Japan Auction. It is a store listing item. So most likely it will stil be listed later on. There is not end date on it.
On the case cover, the black ones do look realy bad, but the gold colored ones look much smoother.

This guy does cheap sliders:-

Even with the International post, they're cheaper than I can find in the UK.

Here is the case cover I had made to replace the plastic disk. This one was a reject so the machine shop just gave it to me. Notice the "CB-1" is to high off center. The other three I have are on center.

The end cover looks good.
Might be cool to have "Cam Gear Train" written on one

For the one in the photo which is new, I paid about $150.00 for it plus shipping. I do not know what shipping to me will be because it will go in a box with a bunch of other stuff.
