Hi, just picked up a 89 cb-1 off Craigslist a few weeks ago.
The bike was tracked, a little beat up, but the price was right (free)!
I just put it on the road, this is my first "sport bike", always have owned honda, 82 cm250c, 85 cb450sc.

what I'm looking for!  The housing for the gauges are busted, the gauges still work, but I at least need the cover/glass.  The underside is crack, but could be made to make work.
In the attempt to remove weight, the prior owner removed all the trim panels, gave me the panels, but no hardware.  The local honda shop wants $4.00 per bolt, plus a shipping charge, any ideas of something cheaper?  Also, the center stand has been removed (and I don't have it), I'd like to put one back on if anyone has one out there.

There is a lot of other things removed (plastic trim)  that came in the box of spare parts, I'm still not sure what they are!  So I may be looking for more in the near future.

I'm not sure how blogs work, but the best way to let me know if you have anything is to e-mail me at hminckler@verizon.net

thanks for all your time

Those bolts for the side panels are a real nuisance to get hold of, took me ages to find a set for mine and I couldn't find anything else to do the job. You might get away with grinding down some normal allen bolts. If you can make a list of what you need, (apart from the bolts), I'll see if I can help. I have a complete set of KPH clocks but don't really want to just sell the covers off them.

I ordered the bolts from bikebandit.com, but they're a bit pricey.

I'm not positive, but it's like, either 1.99 or 2.99.

Whew, my memory must've slipped, but yeah, it's pretty bad. I guess if you order them once and they never disappear it would be worth it. I had to replace all of the bolts on my front covers so that's what I ended up doing.

OEM parts are ALWAYS expensive - even the nuts and bolts.

The internet has revolutionized this, though.  Before, you were stuck going to the local dealer, standing for hours while they poured over the microfiche, and paid through the nose to the only game in town.

Bikebandit.com is a good online resource -- but my recommenation would be to shop around (google) for better pricing on the in-stock OEM stuff -- sometimes significantly less.
