I bought this bike 2 years ago in non-running condition. The previous owner said that it was the CDI unit....it happened at 10,000 miles and he replaced it..all was fine, and the bike currently has 20,000 miles. I got it for fairly cheap and bought the new CDI, no change. It will start and run at 1000rpm's all day, but as soon as you give it gas it dies. I have a bunch of bikes so I kind of left this sit in a corner but now I want to give her a go. Any clues.    Thanks

Sorry I can't help with your problem.  But could you please tell me what bike the faring came from (model/year)?

TIA and welcome to the forum!   Grin

No problem. Thanks for the welcome. The fairing is from Airtech. It is the NC30/VFR400 style, and here is a link to it:

How long did you let it sit?  Sounds to me like the carbs need a good cleaning.

You may want to check the air box for a mouse nest. They love spaces like that!!
