because it is quite usual on older bikes to have a bit of rust at the top of the forks. It is possible to rip the fork selas on that rust before you even get them installed, which would suck. I would not have thought of that, i would normally recommend polishing the fork legs with some autosol solvo, and giving them a light coat of WD40 so that they slide over the legs nicely and don't snag. Either way would work I think

Jesus You're certainly a brainy bunch that's for sure, that would never have popped into my head.
On the subject of suspension, my shock is going out slowly but noticeably steady, has anyone tried hagon shocks? are they worht the money and do they improve the performance?
