I have been bracket racing my cb-1 a little this year best e.t. is a 13.28 at 100mph it has gone as fast as 101mph.  It was so consistant that i parked my busa and raced the cb-1 the last couple races of the year. The attachement is my best timeslip.

Awesome to hear that!  I took my CB-1 to the strip once to practice on my starts for roadracing.  It was a blast!  Definitely not as easy as it looks!  I still have my slips, somewhere, from that day, which was years ago.  It was an open day.  Have you done anything to your motor?  Gearing?

Very cool!! I have run our local strip a few times over the past few years and I found the CB-1 to be VERY consistent. It would be an awesome bracket bike. My runs were all with a 37 tooth rear sprocket and that really killed it off the line. My best 60ft was in the 2.3 range. My timeslips are not scanable now but my best time was 14.20 @ 95.4mph. The amazing thing though is the variation. In over a dozen runs my times were within .04 sec. I had never dragged a bike before and I am sure there is more to be had.

What rpm did you shift at? I got my quickest run shifting about 200 below redline.

The CB-1 proves to be a really fun bike to do most anything. More fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. My ZX6R was much faster at 10.9X sec but way harder to drag. Your Busa must be even more so.

My cb-1 has a factory carb kit, kerker exhaust, stock airfilter element cut out and replaced with k+n filter, stock gearing. I shift at 13000rpm on the tach and launch it at 12000rpm. I took the airfilter out before i raced it to help lean it out because when i had it dyno'ed it was rich at 15:1 air/fuel ratio but it made 46h.p. and 22ft lb

15-1 is a tiny bit lean mixture (14.7-1 is ideal)Roll Eyes

so probably adding some heavier filter oil would bring it closer to ideal, a little rich would help keep things cooler in the head maybe 14-1 / 14.5-1, and give a little more power.

Here is my dyno sheet as you can see its little rich. the 1st time i went to the track it only went 13.7 then i removed the airfilter and the next time i went to the track it went 13.5 the 1st pass and the colder it got the faster it went. I then got it to run in the 13.3-2 range by really working on my 60 ft times i launch it at 12000rpm and try to get the clutch out as fast as i can without bogging the motor. I have never had more fun going slow on a bike then racing the cb-1. Im going to change the gearing to run all 6 gears to improve my 60 ft times and maybe break into a high 12 sec pass.

Wow using all six gears will pretty much be stunting gearing  Grin

I am far too timid on the launch if you are using 12,000 rpm. Next summer i will suck it up and try that. I have two dyno charts, one from 06 and one from 09. Totally stock other than removing the silencer tubes from inside the airbox. I also have a suggestion that you try regular gas if you are using premium. Here is the 06 chart. Note that it is N-M tq and Celsius temps. There is no correction factor on this one even though the weather was quite hot.

Yeah the gearing will pretty much make it a track only or just around town bike no more riding it to work but they are getting kind of rare so i have retired it from commuting duty plus its not that hard to change the gearing back to stock or a 41 sprocket when not racing it. I agree with you about the gas too. if it don't call for it then your wasting money plus it might even hurt your h.p. by running premium or racing gas unless its oxgenated but then you still need to dyno it to get the jetting right. Nice dyno numbers.
