Winter riding

Well boys, I suppose it is time to start thinking about winter riding gear. Have been considering a set of OXFORD HOTHANDS. They seem easy to install and remove and are reasonably priced when compared to gloves.

Any of you boys in the UK ever try them or have another recommendation?
Will our -1's put out enough juice to power heated gear without burning anything out?

A friend of mine got a set for his hornet 600, he had a few other things hooked up to the battery too but he had to remove the adjuster because there was too much drain on his battery, e just hooked up a switch to just under the head of his tank, looked very neat, the only reason he had to get rid of them was because his bike was rote off!

I use the "wrap-around" heated grips and have had no problems. It would be nice to have a variable control as they can get too hot sometimes. I use mine with a pair of muffs - keeps my fingers warm as toast.

I would buy Gerbing Heated gloves far better than Hot grips! You can buy the inner jacket linear too which keeps you warm, Search for Gerbing

Had a look at the Gerbing and it definitely looks like nice gear. However, I only have about a 10 minute commute to work so with my liner in my riding jacket and a good sweater, my hands are about the only thing that gets cold even on the chilly nights. Finding it hard to justify spending $170 for heated gloves for such a short ride.

I just bundle up, and shake for a bit after I get to wherever. Rode home last night for about thirty miles, it was hell. Especially since it'd been warm during the day, mesh jacket in 50 Fahrenheit at 65 mph, not fun.

I'm going to look for either thicker gloves or battery heated gloves, might be better than the perf. leather I've got now.

No doubt! Honestly, I won't put a mesh jacket on unless the temp will still be in the 20's C (70's F) when I return home! Today the ride home was a chilly 7 deg C (44.6 F) and raining, left me contemplating my choice of rides! Not going to get any warmer or likely dryer until next May.

I treated my self to a few little bits....



and an HG masterV suit.  The jacket and gloves are amazing but the trousers can be cumbersome.  Think I will chage to a pair of rukka trousers before next winter as I hear they have a more jean like fit.
