She looks brand new again! Is that a flat black or satin finish on the frame?

Duplicolor metallic texture basecoat with the satin black wheel paint as a top coat.

Really looks good! What kind of prep was involved? Did you bead blast all the old paint off or scuff and chem wipe?

Thanks for the compliments.
This is the result of about $80 worth of Duplicolor spraypaint and a lot of labor.
The tailsection I had purchased new about a year ago but never installed, the tank, also new, was a Christmas present from my wife, gotta love her.
The front end is '07 CBR600RR, the headlight is CB900F, aka 919 Hornet etc. ( e-bay )
Renthal Handlebars with CRG mirrors and homemade risers with Honda CRF clamps.
Front brake rotors are on loan from a raceteam crewchief as long as I own the bike...
Gauges are '07 CBR600RR, taillight is '08 CBR1000RR, BTW I will have a stock taillight that has been converted to LED for sale before too long. (I installed the guts from a CBR1000RR tail light in the stock housing) I'll post pics when I do.
Muffler is Ducati 1098, sounds bitchin, and looks great, IMHO anyway.

Here are a couple more pics.

Any questions, let me know.

Was there any issues with putting on the CBR front end?

The steering stem bearings are the same between the CB1, CBR600F3 and the CBR600RR.
The wheel bearings between the CBR600RR and the CBR600F3 are also the same.
The steering stem length is the same but the forks are shorter.
I sidestepped that by running regular bars instead of clip ons.
If you run low bars, all the cables will still fit.
The biggest issue was steering lock to lock because of the radiator clearance, it is now somewhat Ducatiesque but I can still do u-turns.

I'm glad you almost like it Wink
What parts did you want to see in red ?
The tank and tailsection were bought brand new because the parts I had were beyond saving, especially the rusted through, dented and brazed fuel tank. ( Anybody want to buy a tank, cheap ? )
The blue really 'pops' against the black frame so I decided to leave it that color, even though the original plan was to go pearl white.
The headlight brackets were painted with the same paint that the engine was painted, Duplicolor Cast Coat Iron DE1651.
When it's painted over a dark surface it looks like cast iron. Painted over a light colored surface, such as bare aluminium, it's a bronze color, almost like magnesium.
I was really caught by surprise when I started painting the engine but ended it being really pleased with the end result.
Any help I can give with your version of a CB1.5, just let me know.

I've a serious hard on for one of these. i'm looking into buying an other -1 with the intention of a project 1.5. i'm not sure what 600 enginr to go for. you say you use a f3 engine. Does it fit right in or is there major frame adgustments to be made? How about a cbr rr engine, if so what year would be recomended for best fit?

Super nice job that engine looks like it belongs in there.
How is it geared? What do you estimate the top speed to be?

Thanks guys, glad you like it.

It's not exactly a bolt in. The only stock mount used is the bottom rear, and even with that the F3 rear wheel had to be machined to get the sprockets aligned.
The upper rear mount is all new and the stock mid mounts, to the back of the head, are all new with the original ones cut off the frame. Replacements are welded to the crossbrace in the back where the frame narrows ( coil mount area) and reach forward with aluminium brackets to the F3 head. This was done to clear the wider carbs and the thermostat housing.
The front cradle is all new because the head pipe spacing is off due to the cam drive difference between the two engines.
The F3 airbox does not clear the bottom of the tank until you shift the tank back 1/2 inch and up 1/8-1/4 inch. It also requires that you get the CB1 airbox lid indent grafted into the F3 airbox lid. Then you move the seat back a 1/4 inch and shorten the front and back the same amount. (remember, the tank was moved)
I had to slot the seat lock brackets to move the seat.
The coils are now behind the steering head ( F3 Coils) and the radiator is 600 Hornet because it has a filler cap attached.
Once you've done all that, it becomes a bolt on.............
I hear that the original Hurricane 600 engine was based on the CBR400. If that's the case, it should be a bolt in, or at least closer than this.
I hope that this won't discourage you from going for this and I'll help with info and pics if need be.

Embarrasingly enough I don't remember what gearing I'm running but 6500 rpm is about 74 mph.
The HRC ECM revlimit is 13,500 so theoretically top speed should be in excess of 150 mph.
Since it makes 94 hp at the rear wheel it's probably more a question of hanging on to the bars while waiting for the flashing lights to appear in the rear view mirrors.
I rode it in the local mountains this past Sunday and 100 plus came up between turns awefully fast.
The chassis is unflappable even with the extra power and the forks/brakes and shock do a great job of keeping it on the road.
The bike is far faster than I will ever be.
