Bar end mirrors

For all of you who run bar end mirrors....

Did you have to remove the bar weights to mount them? I have picked a pair up and am loathe to remove the bar weights for fear of hand numbing vibrations. Have been considering machining down the end caps, but don't like the idea of making irreversible mods to factory parts.

Any ideas?

I realize that what I'm about to say is apples to oranges but I'm running CRG's directly bolted to solid mounted tubular aluminum renthals on a CB1 with a CBR600F3 motor shoehorned into the frame.
Vibration is not an issue on that setup

The bar end mirror which came with my Hornet (oberon's I think) had weights to mount them into.  Can't stand them though - the view is crap and tiny.  Plus, they're crap for filtering through traffic!  I'm getting rid asap.

any one have any good recomendations for bar end mirrors i'd love to get a set for the look of them but know the view can be crap from some of them?

I got a set on ebay that with some messing around with got to screw into my throttle side. Note the spacer because the screw was too long. My clutch side doesn't have a weight so I kludgied up a homemade mini weight out of rubber and duct tape that the mirror screwed into. It worked until the bike got knocked over and they broke off. Here's how they looked.

Those look more like the old school cafe racer style.

Ya that'd be the kinda look i'd be goin for, i'm not into the one's that stick out. I like it Flush

I had very similar one on my '77 CB550K. They fit the cafe racer look I wanted

I am running my CB-1 without the bar weight and vibration are not an issue at all.
