Needing a bit of TLC, but looking forward to it.

Nice Bike and beatifull Island.
I was there in 2005 and stayed in new Chaweng.
Is there stil this 89Bat-All-You-Can-Eat-Restaurant?

In new Chaweng was also a Bikedealer - there I found a CB1 with Single-Sided-Swingarm from a Honda Hawk...

Booah Man if Money wouldnt be so small this times, I would like to visit Samui again....

Now looks like this...   Pearlescent white, with the tank decals from Drewski, (cheers for that, they look ace in the flesh).
Many long nights in the garage , but it's getting there.
I took these yesterday, now have the swingarm off for spraying, also deciding what to do with the wheels....

I'm still considering changing the swingarm for a CBR one

Cheers,
here's another angle...  Still not convinced about the little fairing, but it gives me somewhere to hide the wiring, (& a bit of protection).
I have a HID kit, but am toying with the idea of using the halogens with relays so i can keep a high/low beam.
Also got a stubby carbon can which will be going on.... Can't wait Grin

I personally like the lights and fairing. I am working on mounting a Buell Lightning windscreen onto mine, just have to make up some mounting brackets. If you put dual halogens you will run the risk of killing your charging system, due to the wattage. Depending on the HID kit you have, you may be able to get Bi-Xenon bulbs to keep the high and low beam. I have a dual HID kit with Bi-Xenon bulbs on mine and it works great. Same brightness in high or low, the bulbs just move the focal point higher up in high beam using a small electromagnet.

Your bike looks great and definitely deserves the CBR swingarm Wink

If you don't do much two-up riding, consider using 92-99 CBR900 rear pegs, they allow the exhaust to go higher up, but do squish the passenger's legs a little bit. They just look nicer, more modern.

So, just got a pair of Fireblade rear hangars from ebay UK.  20 quid, not so bad.
Should be here in about 2 weeks, then i can get to work on the exhaust....

The swingarm is gonna have to wait for a while, spent enough on it for now....

For the Swingarm:
Near the the "All you can eat"-Bar in new Chaweng was a Bike-Garage. One  of the Guys there had a CB1 with an Hawk-Single-Swingarm.
A nice looking Solution but in Germnay not legal because of the welding at the Frame, but at Samui - who cares?

You may should take a look....

what did you do to get rid of your fender, as in, how are you hanging your plate? the tail on yours looks very clean. What years/models of cbr swingarms work?

cheers

That was using the ninja/shotgun style brakelight which was tucked in under the seat unit, then just a bent-up piece of sheet alloy as a bracket for the plate and indicators. Regulation plates are 9"x7", I used a 7"x5" so that it would fit. If anyone UK is thinking about it, 7"x5.5" is still illegal, but retains the right proportion so look less suspect.

Please note I haven't owned that bike for 2 years now, so everything is from memory and there won't be any pictures.

Idea for the plate bracket came from this type of thing (motrax RRSend)

The brake light seems to have disappeared and become non available, which might be for the best given how crappy the wiring was.

thanks that helps anyway. that plate hanger looks great. no rules here in canada. guys have their plates hung way up in where the fender would be half the time, mounted with zap straps so it flips up when you are going fast!
