I have a standard (stock) '89 model CB-1.  Am looking for good options for a small wind screen (single headlamp).  Any suggestions?

I'm at a loss in who has what and am just now shopping to see what's out there.

Thanks All.

I have a Puig screen on mine been through two crashes on the same bike and noever broke, few scratches here there and everywhere but works great you really notice the wind resistance without it. i see you are without the origional clock cluster though. they are hard to come by if you need a new set. I think either Honda or Givi make a very neat bikini fairing for the hornet 900 that i think should fit onto the -1 it is the same front light and clocks etc. it looks the part and i'd say it is alot better than the simple slide on screens! hope this helps

This does help.  I've pulled a copy of Puig's catalog from their website.

The Meters are my next objective.  Looking for stock or something close.  Looked at the 900 Hornet (919 in the US).  Appear similar, but somewhat different.  Some have suggested 'Trail Tech' digital meters.  Some have suggested a Hornet 250 or a CB400SF (Super Four).  Both appear very compatible with little modification.  I really (really) want to find some CB-1 meters to get back to original.  Ultimately, which ever direction I go, I'd like the small windscreen primarly to conceal what's there (especially if I go w/Trail Tech), just to streamline the look.

I had an '89 CB-1 (red w/silver stripes) back in 1994 through 1999.  I swore I'd never let it go, but my finances forced me.  I spent the last year trying to track it down (still have the VIN on file).  Couldn't find it, but came across the one from CB1guy, so I decided to make the move and snatch it up.  Been shopping online and @ local dealers since January.  Got it running.  Got some replacement components off e-bay.  Just can't find the meters/guages that work for me.

Had a college kid stop by a few days ago and offer me 4x what I paid for it, but considering I bought it as a 'keeper' to hang-on to, I have no intent on selling.

Since this bike was only imported 2 years to the US, we are challenged on finding parts.  Really wish one of the folks from this site that are non-US based and may have unique options available (at least unique to the US), would help out.  I'm truly looking for that 1-of-a-kind, which for us in the US is achievable.

Thanks all.

Finding clocks for these beauties is difficult i saw a set on e-bay but they went very quick. you can use the same casings as most of the hornets, not the new ones though. you're main problem is going to be getting an odometer to rev up to cb-1 range and spedometer to do likewise. i've got my eye's peeled but i also have exams soon so i don't have much time to keep my eye on e-bay

I've been on e-bay (US, UK, and occasionally Japan & Germany) all weekend, most of last week, most of the weeek.... etc - since January.  I can't read the Japanese or German e-bay.

I really do appreciate all the CB-1 fans and support as I continue my tireless pursuit (yes, I'm obsessed).

Obsesion seems to be normal in CB-1 owners. If you download the google toolbar there is a google translater tool on it that should translate pages to English for you

Keep an eye out on Yahoo auction for Japanese parts:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp%2Fjp%2Fsearch%3Fp%3Dcb-1%26auccat%3D26318%26alocale%3D0jp%26acc%3Djp

will translate it into English, then if you find what you're after there are plenty of 'agents' who'll package and forward to you for a fee.

Yes I am interested ! ! !

I am trying to get a set off e-bay, but the seller doesn't ship to the US.  So if you have a set, I'm very interested.  If not, maybe I could have the e-bay seller transfer theirs through you?  Maybe?  Please?

Greatful in the U.S.

Yup, it's no problem for me to post stuff out to the States for anyone if a seller refuses, if they block your bid, I can bid on the item too.

Fly N Cycle sells a windscreen pretty cheap (about $50). It's what I have.

JRN, Rifle Windshields makes a small fairing for the -1. They color match it and have two windshield heights. Its called the Nightflight
and its not the worst I've seen, but not the best either.
 Just Google Rifle windshields.
