1  Classifieds / For Sale / Re: Parts bike or project. Cincinnati, Ohio $900. on: June 14, 2017, 07:15:05 AM
Just to be clear. It will need more than just a rebuild of the carbs. My guess is new fuel lines, brakes rebuilt, probably new tires, they are new but quite a few years old. Having said the above I don't think it will take too much to get it running. I way overpaid for this bike when I bought it but had driven 6 hours to look at it and you know how that goes! I was under the assumption that it was just a little tinkering and I would have a runner. I think what I am offering it for is very fair and it could easily be a runner again but would need more aesthetic work than I was willing to put into it to get it where I would be happy with it. Plus I happened upon a really nice survivor that just need basic mechanical upkeep to get it back to being perfect. With a nice example in the garage I just lost interest in doing anything with this one so decided to sell it.

Stussels, I am headed to Mid Ohio on Sunday for a trackday so long as the weather is nice and would be happy to deliver in Columbus.

I've had a lot of interest in parts only. If I can part it out and get rid of most of it I will be willing to part it out. I am still trying to sell it as a whole and will give it until July 10th when I return from Mid Ohio Vintage Motors Days where I will be showing it for sale assuming I still have it.

If you want something throw your name in the thread by editing this list and what you would like so I know who has first dibs on the parts. My prices will be very fair, I need the space.

List so far:
Vintage Hunter has dibs on Tank, Tail, and Front Fender.

I bought this a few years ago to rebuild and ended up getting a really nice survivor so I lost interest. Motor turns over. Carbs are apart and need quite a bit of TLC. Probably better off just buying a new set. Tank is good an has a little interior surface rust. I have the airbox, no filter. I didn't not want to ship it ifI can help it. I think I have the title but I never transferred it to my name. The bike is 99% complete only missing a screw or two. More pictures upon request

How about some better pictures? I have a full parts bike and could probably get this running. Plus it's close.

Very cool! If I was a little farther along with my project I would pick one up but I need the $ for other parts and paint right now.

And close enough to be interesting.

If you are smart enough to track down electrical gremlins then you are smart enough to replace a stator. It is very easy. Look on you tube lots of examples from other bikes.

Try having the seat refurbished with a stiffer foam if you need a little leg room. It might not give you a ton of room but it will give you a little and is normally pretty cheap.

Location and pics might help. Especially when asking this kind of dollar figure.

Bars should be a standard 7/8". Kill switch is just a dumb on/off switch and start is two wires. Should be an easy replacement even though the connectors may not be identical. Just solder them together.

I think I may have sourced a set of carbs that should get me going. I'll keep you posted!
Thanks

Long story short, I bought a cb-1 that was supposedly running. Once I got the tank off I realized that no chance in hell was this thing running. I pulled the carbs and found some broken pieces that will need to be replaced. I have looked every where but cannot find the parts and am hoping someone here may have them and be willing to part with them to get this old girl running again. I have heard that the cbr600f1 used the same carbs. Is this true? I could probably find a set of those somewhere.

First I need a choke plunger. looks like this:

I only need the brass piece.

Other item I need is a air/fuel screw:

I wish I knew the above items would fit, but all i know is they look right.

No complete carbs for sale at this time.

What do you have left of the carbs? Looking for some pieces.
