Very nice! Did you powder coat the frame or spray it? Looks great

I just touched up where needed.  Found that this stuff at Home Depot is a pretty close match, I used it to respray anything that was the original dark grey that needed reconditioning.

Just got back from my first time riding a CB-1, and the first time this bike has been on the road since 2002!  Just wanted to share Smiley

What a blast.  Did 12 miles and took it up to 12k rpm several times.  I've had several Honda CB's (CB700SC, CB650, CB600F) and this one might be my favorite.  I've also resurrected and put back on the road several older Hondas but this one was by far the most challenging.

Got it in 2015 "for parts" for a couple hundred bucks.  Been sitting outside for some time and no title.  Motor wasn't turning over.  But I just can't stay away.  Sat for a few years then I dove in head first about 3 months ago for a full refurb.  Not trying to stay OEM original but matching OEM look.  Hence the ebay knockoff headlight, levers, etc.  Disassembled every bolt, nut, and part on this bike except the engine, cleaning, repainting, and replacing when needed.  I actually chased down the original owner who had left it with a neighbor and moved out west.  He was really great in helping find the title and getting it signed over to me.  Just back from the DMV with a plate and it was time to get her back on the road.

Now I have a bike that looks 95% showroom and I'm quite happy!  If anyone needs advice, I've been over every little damn thing on this bike in 100's of hours restoring it, feel free to hit me up for advice.

Hope you enjoy the pics

Seems too good to be true but I did find NOS brackets from a company in Greece:

Shipping is pricey but since these are literally the last parts I need for my CB1 restoration I decided to go for it!  If anyone is curious, I'll let you know if the parts ever actually arrive Smiley  Got a ship notice this morning.

Anyone have headlight brackets (and preferrably the bolts as well)?  Happy to pay a reasonable price and shipping.  Fair to good condition is fine!

8  Classifieds / For Sale / Fairing for sale and Parts Wanted on: December 15, 2014, 12:51:42 AM

Hi everyone --

I just picked up a basket-case CB-1 for a restoration project today ... always wanted one of these bikes!  The bike came with a full fairing in fair shape that I am not going to use.  It has one small crack on the right bottom, a few scuffs, and the bracket that attaches to the head tube is cracked.  It looks pretty good on the bike though:

I would love to trade for some of the parts I am looking for, or sell outright.  Local pickup preferred, this thing may not be worth shipping.  In Raleigh, NC

Parts I'm looking for:
- Headlight including brackets
- Front turn signals
- Rear turn signals
- Front brake master cylinder and lever assembly
- Mirrors
- Stock exhaust (will trade the slightly rusty Kerker for a good stocker)

Contact me at whit32@gmail.com or reply here.  Thanks!
