your camera must be as nice as your cb-1.  some great pics
2  General Category / Tech Corner / Re: Why the countershaft speedo drive? on: December 18, 2017, 09:46:04 AM
i tend to think of the cb-1 as a factory custom kinda bike.  it was clean slate designed to be a naked bike.  as such they took some extra measures to make it look tidy.  theres cosmetic covers with fake bolts just to keep the look they were after.  the countershaft driven sprocket was just another way they went about cleaning up the bikes looks.  no messy cable running down the fork.  take the fairing off a same year cbr600 and you really see how much effort was put into the presentation of the cb-1 when they knew it wasnt just going to be covered by a fairing.  its a great design to this day imho.

BINGO.
he and I don't agree on a lot of things but there are 1 or 2 items I learned from him and that saying was one of them.

"Oh whelp, someone on the internet doesn't agree with me. I guess I'll have to move on".
sounds like ross.  but he wouldve spelled it welp.  whelp is a baby dragon.
ross is an abundant wealth of honda knowledge.  every honda fan should know a ross.  hes a great guy regardless of his politics.  he once priced out a cb-1 part by part.  i think it came out to around $35k

Seriously, just have the courage of your convictions. Post your pics. I'd post my latest acquisition if this site accepted normal sized images. And believe me, it's a mess. Luckily I didn't pay much for it. Indeed, it's so bad I'm considering breaking the bugger up and selling everything but the forks and the carbs on ebay to finance my main project.

the thing is theres a big diff between posting pics of your project youve spent countless hours on that youre proud of vs. some pos factory bike you picked up for a song.  i dont know anything about the people who built the bike in this post but it looks like it may have been a father son project.  kudos to them.  hoodies and all.

My project is coming to completion (although it's never really ever done). Rather than have my creation dipped apart by a biased audience, I shall leave the results to myself.  The design of a motorcycle is a personal one. Yes it may affect the rideability of it, but as long as the person riding it is safe and enjoys it, nothing else that matters.
VH, I will send you a couple pictures, as you have been respectable with your observations.

And let's all not forget...... If you have a hoodie. Make sure you use it only to wipe down your bike, as you will be criticized by someone with "way" more intellect and style than you.  If you get cold without it. I am sure he/she will let you borrow their snuggle.

now see, dammit.  this is what im talking about.  i wanna see any custom cb-1's.  or stock really.  post some pics.  you cant care what some random people online have to say.  cant please em all nor are you trying to.  ive caught a little flack on my -1 by some picky people but dont let it get to me.  as long as im pleased.

fine looking custom cb-1. anyone should be able to put up their bikes on here and not fear such negative criticism.  i mean even down to his choice of clothes?  cmon now.

i completely agree!  and as time marches on and those elites get more impatient the more transparent it becomes.

the computer im typing on now is a 12 year old dell with vista.  its just now started giving me troubles.  probably get a new one soon.  i just got my first apple product last year.  iphone 6 se.  its nice but new and odd to me.  still miss my windows phone for its simplicity, compatibility, and just being familiar.
