Hey all, I'm in East Van and i've got an old racer that was given to me to fix up years and years ago, project stalled out back in 2012, never got it off the ground.
was running when parked, just the rear seat frame is a touch tweaked. would be great for all the parts on it. should be basically complete.

just need it out of the yard, looking for $500

i was going to just unbolt the switch from the old and the new and just swap the connector part, but that is a no go. new one is 4 screws, old is three... so next idea is just replace the lock cylinder... but i can't figure out how to get it out.. any ideas?

and the allen head screws that came with the gas cap started to rust. going to have to clean them and clear or paint or something.

Today - for the first time - I took mine up the road & back, only a short tootle on our dead-end road, 400 yards or so half a dozen times, out of consideration for the neighbours.  She starts, she runs, she stops.  Not enough distance to get the revs up outside the first couple of gears, but it is progress on being a virtual 'box of bits'.  It didn't feel inclined to take off like a scalded cat like my last one did, but my last one had been treated like a 'princess' by the proud P.O., so it is probably never going to.

Is the gearbox upside down on CB-1's ?  It was a while ago.

I've put her on my insurance, but I need to do the fork seals, re-build the front brake master cylinder & put the rear brake disc on, at the very least, before I start contemplating an MOT.  Tyres are "like new" tread-wise, but have some age, which is a bit of a concern.

what do you mean upside down? as in 1 up 5 down? could be that the shift linkage is just flipped over. i know mine is that way because my friend was using it as a dedicated race bike.
