I just recieved a "black" tank original from a fellow CB1 from the UK.
John!...thank you mate. The tank is in "awesome" shape.
So good of a shape compared to my own tank that I'm going to have to change my mind and paint the tail section and front faring "black".
Great job John! thanks again.

Tank looks great!  Is the inside in good shape too?  The bike would look great in black as well

the inside is in pretty good shape.
I may have to acid-wash the inside just to be on the safe side.
I don't want to swap out the tanks, then find myself needing a carb cleaning....the CB1 is running right so I don't want to introduce any rust particulites in the system so I'll do the acid wash just to be safe.

The old tank I had  bought a new petcock for it.
I'm simply going to swap out the petcock and put it in the black tank.

Also, I've decided I'm going to give it a shot at the "rattle can" painting of the fender (it's yellow now but will be black) and that the rear tail section.
I've ordered a rear tail section. it's "blue" and it's stock thinking I was going to paint the whole bike blue but the tank is in great shape that I've switched and now going to paint the bike black.

I think I can do the "black" myself. Never done it before but what the hell.

No. there aren't at least not in the U.S. Sure I've seen folks "paint" their CB1s black but not many "stock" black tanks.
I picked up a tail section from ebay. it's nice "smurf blue" stock color. Gonna be a shame to paiint it.
I might just have to use my spare tail section to paint that one black and sell the "blue tail section" once I get it.

Amazes always how so few part to paint on this bike regarding "tank, front fender and tail" and they always want to charge a customer an arm and a leg for it.
