Can't find any part numbers on the shock. Only numbers I can find are on the reservoir- SHOWA kaf-701.

Bottom of tire measures 20mm to the ground when on the service stand

I can't comment on how it handles cause its only my second bike, before this was a commuter.

I'll do some googling and try and match up a unit from Honda images

I have a 900rr shock on my race bike. The first time on track with it, i dropped my personal best lap time by a full second.

......and here's the irony behind all this....now that I have the CB1 spot on, I'm going to let her be taken care of by my brother this weekend.
I'm giving it to him (with conditions of course) for his 50th birthday coming up in August 9th of next month.

So....I'll let him use the CB1 for one year while he gets his moto-feet wet again and then if he decides (which I'm sure he will) to get his own bike, then I take my CB1 back.
Conditions:
1. he can't sell it out from under me. He has to give it back to me.
2. if he dings it, dents it, whatevs...it must be fixed on his dime.
3. if he likes, he can transfer title to his name.
4. if after 1 year he wants to continue fartin' round with it...that's fine too.
5. maintenances he has to do. oil, chain, etc...

that's bout it.
he has been pining for a moto since we rode in college together...and well, He's the best brother I gots...so why not.
Heck I have two bikes anyways so....it'll just make me ride my 919'r more.

we are all brothers and sisters Peter.....all of us. Some just "more" brothers than others (remember Animal Farm). But seriously Peter if I was King Midas, trust me you'd have the ultimate CB1 in yer carriage house right now, alas...I'm no king midas.....so you'll just have to settle for me praises on your CB1.........for now, Wink till I win the lotto.
