I have been playing with this and its a bit weird.  Here is a post with a hosted 3rd party link and link to my photo bucket:

and the link:  <a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/user/spacetiger81/media/CB-1/Honda_zps4zs30tbo.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l80/spacetiger81/CB-1/Honda_zps4zs30tbo.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Honda_zps4zs30tbo.jpg"/></a>

you will be able to see the hosted pic for about 24hrs, then you get the dreaded notification to update the 3rd party hosting blah blah blah

But the link seems to work.

Strangely, if you click on the link, it seems to refresh the 3rd party hosted link works again so you can see the pic again??

For me its showing 3rd party blocked.

You may find your cache holds the image for 24h, so your looking at a cache version from the photobucket hosting site?

The other possibility is more sinister. Perhaps they're hiding what they're doing so you think your posts work when really they aren't.

Both are entirely possible a_morti. My critical/logical thinking brain suggests the latter best fits their current suicidal mindset.

Here's a related fact. If I mistype suicidal as duicidal (easily done with fat thumbs) my iPhone doesn't offer me the correct spelling. Why? Because suicidal is like slave, it's a word they don't want us typing. Try the common/easy mistyping: skave and see what happens.

The commercial www is divided into the elite haves and due to get more, either by eating the competition or being eaten, and the much poorer desperately seeking the bored through clickbate and porn sites such as Photobucket. It's commercial Darwinism.

I used to blog about this ten years ago when Paul Graham correctly pointed out that Microsoft was dead. Yahoo was deader of course, so was Dell, and Apple hadn't even seriously begun its comeback yet.

But MS sent Elop to Nokia as a classic Trojan horse to deliver his infamous "burning platform" killer blow to one of the last true non American independents, and a genuine originator in the game, albeit one who had committed the fatally flawed error of falling so far behind that they needed the (not so) ex MS exec to run them.

The result was that Nokia ended up being bought by MS and thus provided the Redmond monstrosity with what their $200 million R&D department had consistently failed to do for decades, a product that could actually compete (at any level) against the genuine innovators in the industry.

As you can see, it's very very Darwinian, but also Orwellian, Kafkaesque and not a little Greek and Shakespearean - all at the same time, especially with Jobs dead of cancer, and the infamous eugenicist pretending to give away his fortune in a mock effort to inoculate children in poor countries with no access to lawyers.

MF, you are one deep dude.  We should have a pint together sometime...

Also, on my experiments to link from PB.  It seems I now have the dreaded you have to update you 3 party BS in my PB library in place of the pic!  If you go to the thumbnail, you can see the pic, but if you click it, you only get the clock logo...  This really is like the "we got your data" blackmail.  Good thing I have all the originals on my computer that is also backed up.

That's not even nose into the rabbit hole Jerry. I got out of the tech business because I could see the level of corruption coming down the line. The deep dark secret begins with the TRUE origins of M$, Zioogle and Farsebook. Whilst the jokes are all about Apple being satanic (price of first computer was $666...) but the truth is that Windows (based on Q-Dos which Gates sent a guy to buy for $125k) was designed with back doors in it to allow the 'intelligence' agencies free access, and the anti virus software industry to thrive.

Google is essentially Mossad, and that satanic personality bypass that allegedly stole his idea from the Winklevoss bros was recruited by the CIA at 16. And then the IPO was fiddled to pay off the early investors and hide the truth about its real business model.

But a pint or two of artisan beer would be a great idea.

Don't mind me strussels, I'm just an ex engineer, ex something else, ex ad/marketing agency owner, ex tech dot com owner, furniture designer, critical thinker and dot connector. All my stories are based on boring facts that are mostly in the public domain.

Nokia made great phones. The 6310i is peerless. I have two! The Communicator was well ahead of its time. That's why MS bought them - in the fire sale that their guy Elop caused by destroying the company from within.

I have no idea who actually makes MS computers and brands them for whoever took over from the hapless Ballmer, probably FoxxCon. They's me Apple products.

There are three operating systems I use: OS X, iOS and Ubuntu.

Windows is a virus. Every time I'm delayed by someone having issues with their terminal, it's a Windows issue! I can keep my iMac on for months without rebooting. I know people who reboot their Windows PCs several times a day - every day. The entire tech industry as we know it grew up around training people to do what a four year old can do on a Mac, and resolving the issues built into Windows. When I had my studio, we spent zero on training and zero on tech! We had wall to wall Macs!
