I'm testing the new Flickr hosting site since PhotoSukit ruined it for a bunch of folks.
let me know if you can see this image.
this is how the tail of the CB1 should be...and besides, this is a BAD A bike.

Fixed it for ya, you need the image tags around it. (img)your http image location(/img) but using brackets [] instead of parenthesis ().

If you are talking about your signature picture that is currently showing the error, you go to profile, then forum profile information.  You should be able to add a linked picture with the img tags in the signature box.

no...not referring to my avatar.
I'm referring to that I inserted that "[img]" infront of the http address and at the end and nothing happened.
it still came out as the address with no picture but just with the "[img]" in front and at the end.

Got it.  You need the / in front of img in the second set of brackets.  Like this "[/img]".

Nice find on the "quotes" preventing it from trying to find an image.  I couldn't figure out how to type it to prevent the broken image icon.

That's seriously nice Vintagehunter. I can see it now. Thanks for the html primer Sugs. It's a useful tip. I seem to recall a lot of html instructions are also opened and closed with "<" and "/>. It's been a while since I did any coding, and I wasn't very proficient at it.

So, VH, I'll see your tail and raise you this cold starter:

Full story here apparently:

Sadly that back end is made of sheet steel! Just knowing that upsets me! Illogical maybe, but of all the materials he could have used, and after making that great exhaust, it's disappointing, though the look is great and in reality it doesn't detract from the overall job. Only the number plate can do that!

I saw that black CB1 you posted about 2 years ago.
dunno....the tail is kinda...umm...not sure. it's off somehow. Dunno if it's the angle of the mangle or the trellis framing or what? Just not sure but there's somepin off on that CB1.
The more I stare at the design, the more I know what it is.....the "tail" is pointing upward too much. the angle is out of whack with the tank and frame lines. it just looks "not right".

I agree VH. Reminds me of that pose John Travolta struck in that dancing movie! Rather gay;) The detail is far more elegant on the one you posted. Multiple curves going on all over its top, bottom and side surfaces. Indeed it's almost reptilian.

see...I'm having a hellacious time trying to get stupid pictures to be visible. Again, not sure what the "exact" semantics for these damn coding is.

It's easy VH. You open an image with "". The / closes the argument. I think that's what it's called.

thus:

And if that didn't work I'm giving up and becoming a greengrocer!;)

WTF?Huh

That's not how I typed it? Even after editing twice it's still wrong!! I give up. This site is part of the problem IMO. Posting pics was resolved years ago on most social media.

Your link doesn't bring up any photo even on its own VH.

Ok, got it to work, this is the actual image location I used. "img]http://i.imgur.com/hWwKXEc.jpg[/img" Replace the quotes "" with opening and closing brackets [].  The reason the image tags didn't work is because the address was for a webpage, not an image.  Any image you find on the net has its own specific location.  All you do is right click the image and select "open image in new tab"(I use Chrome, process may be different with other browsers), the new tab will reveal the specific address for the image.  That is what you copy and paste into your post with the opening and closing img tags.
