Hi there,

I'm in the process of cleaning up my frame before paint and found a broken bracket which i believe is for the lower exhaust mount. Can't seem to find any good pictures of what it should look like in my manuals. Do any of you guys have a picture of this area? Just below the center stand?

Thanks

It looks broken but unless mine is broken in the same way I think that's how it should look. I've attached a photo, please ignore the dirty state of my bike, it's in daily use.

Hope this helps  Cheesy

Oh, That's interesting. I thought that was going to be where the manifold bolted. My bikes manifold wasn't bolted to anything at that lower position, maybe it's a common part to fail?

Thanks!

I just had a look in the service manual and there is supposed to be a long bolt that I don't have, attached to a bracket that I don't have either. So you are probably correct, it's a common point of failure. I can say though that mine has been missing for more than 7 years so it must be a bonus item if anyone has this still.

It would be interesting to hear from others?

Definitely broken, here's what it should look like - steel tubing holding a rubber bushing for the mounting bolt:

I think a lot of them are broken off just there, but the exhaust never seems to suffer because of it. Maybe the bike vibrates a little more than it would? Hard to say.

Thanks a lot for that picture Spurlock, I should be able to build that, I'll source the rubber bushings to find the ID of that tube! Also looks like the Coolant reservoir vent tube lives in the hole of the bracket.

Cheers
